More Game Modes Added in Latest Major Update for ‘Iron Meat’ [Trailer]

Fans of Retroware’s run-and-gun Iron Meat have more to chew on, thanks to the game’s second major update. Available now on Steam (with the console release to follow at a later date), the free update introduces three new game modes, as well as new weapons and enemy types.
The new game modes available to players include Arcade, which allows you to play through the game with the limitation of having a limited number of continues; Boss Rush, which has players enduring every boss in the game, once after the other; and what’s probably the most interesting mode in Mutation. Mutation allows you to customize your Iron Meat experience with a set of 10 “Mutator” settings, ranging from how many enemies you’ll face, what weapon types are available to you and their firing speed, and even specific limitations such as fallen enemies producing toxic bubbles or hands that inch forward and try to grab you from the left side of the screen.
Accompanying the new game modes in the update are two new weapons:
-
The “F” (Flamethrower) is a unique, close-range weapon that dishes out a stream of multiple fireballs. These fireballs will trail along as the player aims in different directions.
-
The “P” (Particle Gun) A weapon that fires dozens upon hundreds of concentrated particle projectiles.
To complement your new toys, you have a new wall-crawling zombie enemy. These sacks of flesh appear on background or foreground elements, running along the stage area to give you even more baddies to butcher.
If that’s not enough incentive, for those prospective players, Retroware has added a 25% discount for Iron Meat, which is on until June 5.
In addition to Steam, Iron Meat is available for the PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, the Nintendo Switch, the Xbox Series, and the Xbox One.
