LEGO Officially Releasing ‘The X-Files’ Set With Monsters, Aliens, Mulder, Scully & More!

LEGO recently tasked fans with building their own nostalgic tributes to the 1990s as part of the Build Your Nostalgia – 90s Throwback challenge, with the winning build being turned into an official LEGO Ideas set in the future. The winner of the challenge has been announced this morning, and we’re all about to get an official LEGO set based on “The X-Files“!
A builder by the name of WetWired is responsible for the set titled The X-Files: The Truth Is Out There, and that winning set is indeed being officially produced by LEGO Ideas!
The LEGO Ideas team explains, “WetWired’s model based on the popular 90s sci-fi drama series features a forest UFO scene above a recreation of Mulder’s famous basement office, complete with the iconic “I Want To Believe” poster. The build features approximately 2,020 pieces and includes minifigures such as Fox Mulder, Dana Scully, “Grey” Alien, The Jersey Devil, Assistant Director Walter Skinner, Syndicate Leader and Eugene Tooms.
“The X-Files first burst onto our TV screens in 1993, before running for 11 seasons and ultimately becoming a worldwide phenomenon. Now, we’re excited to see it return in LEGO form. WetWired says their creation is filled with references to the series and that the build offers the chance to piece together the global conspiracy, brick by brick.”
Development now begins, with LEGO working alongside WetWired to make the dream set a reality. Please note that the images included in this article are of WetWired’s build that was submitted to LEGO Ideas, so you can expect that the final product won’t look exactly the same.
Stay tuned for updates on the LEGO Ideas “The X-Files” set as we learn more.
