A man returns to the idyllic beach of his childhood to surf with his son, only to be thwarted by the locals’ hardcore “don’t live here, don’t surf here” rule. Bitter but determined to surf his beach — and buy the nearby house where he grew up — the man suffers tribulations of body and soul that push him to his limits.

Julian McMahon, Nic Cassim, Miranda Tapsell, Alexander Bertrand, Justin Rosniak, and Finn Little also star. Thomas Martin penned the script.

I wrote in my review, “The film plays like a virtual midlife crisis, with director of photography Radek Ladczuk’s deft use of zoom and wide angle lenses, an ethereal score by François Tétaz, palpably oppressive heat, and so much vicarious humiliation that it feels like you’re experiencing it firsthand.”
