Those of you who are suckers for eye candy in their games (aren’t we all?) have something new to keep tabs on with Fatih Atacan PRODUCTIONS’ upcoming supernatural bodycam horror title Horror Tales Eats The World. Coming to Steam Early Access, the game scratches that found footage itch (similar to the upcoming DEADCAM) while employing some gorgeous photoreal graphics.

Rather than an overarching plot, Horror Tales Eats The World instead has a collection of stories. You explore different environments, searching for a cassette tape in each of them. Each tape tells a unique horror story based on the environment in which you find it. Currently, the Early Access version of the game will include the Forest, with the remaining content – Outer Space, Giza Pyramids, and Cambodian Temples – arriving periodically leading up to the full release.

The entire game is experienced through the perspective of bodycams, phones, and VHS cameras. Contrary to what you might expect, Horror Tales Eats The World is eerily gorgeous in its graphics, which makes the perspective that much more disturbing. Adding to the tension is the mechanic where the game listens to your microphone input. If you exceed a certain volume level, your character dies instantly.

Currently, the plan in Early Access is to add more content and polish things up over time. Fatih Atacan aims to add more horror elements, as well as new maps and areas to the game as well as focus on optimization. “Nothing is set in stone yet. I’m building this step by step, and a lot will depend on your feedback and how things go. But these are the directions I’m aiming for!”
