The film comes to select theaters November 26 and Netflix December 12.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery premiered to rave reviews at the Toronto International Film Festival over the weekend. Many critics have noted that the film brings a gothic vibe to the franchise, with Rian Johnson’s dark new murder-mystery being compared to the works of Edgar Allan Poe.

Netflix previews, “Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) returns for his most dangerous case yet in the third and darkest chapter of Rian Johnson’s murder mystery opus.”

Johnson himself previews, “It’s more similar to the first Knives Out in that it gets back to the real origins of the genre, which predate Agatha Christie, going back to Edgar Allan Poe. It’s still a Benoit Blanc mystery, so it’s funny and fun, but it’s set in an old stone church, there are lots of graveyards.”

Daniel Craig teases, “You start off thinking you’re watching an old-fashioned sort of Agatha Christie-type mystery — but then it shifts, and you realize you’re watching something entirely different.”

Josh O’Connor (Challengers), Glenn Close (Fatal Attraction), Josh Brolin (Avengers: Endgame), Mila Kunis (Black Swan), Jeremy Renner (The Avengers), Kerry Washington (Django Unchained), Andrew Scott (“Sherlock”), Cailee Spaeny (Alien: Romulus), Daryl McCormack (Twisters), and Thomas Haden Church (Spider-Man 3) co-star.
