With Hell Is Us launching later this week, NACON and Rogue Factor have decided to give prospective players the Coles Notes version of just what this open world Soulslike involves in the form of a new trailer. The trailer highlights the game’s key features: exploration free from any form of artificial assistance, a captivating story set in a mysterious world, and intense melee combat.

What’s more, those who have already plunked their money down by pre-ordering the Deluxe Edition can get in on the fun now with 72 hours of early access.

Hell is Us aims to offer an experience that emphasises exploration, investigation and dynamic melee combat. Through its Player-Plattering approach incentivising players to follow their instincts rather than markers, the title aims to return to the roots of adventure games. It encourages reflection and observation by eliminating all forms of intrusive assistance.

In Hell is Us, players take on the role of Rémi, a protagonist on a quest to find his origins in a country ravaged by civil war. The country’s almost total autarky conceals a dark secret: the recent appearance of strange creatures reminiscent of ancient headstones and monuments in the region. Armed with weapons specially forged to fight these monsters, Rémi must learn how to defeat them and use his equipment wisely.
