The book also contains del Toro’s developmental sketches of the monster along with over 12 unique ephemera items hand-inserted into each book.
If that’s not enough, del Toro’s Frankenstein screenplay will also be published as a hardcover book on November 25 from Insight Editions.
Frankenstein is in select theaters now and will arrive on Netflix November 7.
In the film, brilliant but egotistical scientist Victor Frankenstein brings a creature to life in a monstrous experiment that ultimately leads to the undoing of both the creator and his tragic creation.
It stars Oscar Isaac (Dune) as Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi (Saltburn) as Frankenstein’s monster, Mia Goth (MaXXXine) as Elizabeth Lavenza, and Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds) as Dr. Pretorius.
Felix Kammerer (All Quiet on the Western Front), Lars Mikkelsen (“Ahsoka”), David Bradley (Harry Potter), Christian Convery (“Sweet Tooth”), Ralph Ineson (The Witch), and Charles Dance (“Game of Thrones”) round out the cast.
Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “There’s no question that Frankenstein is absolutely breathtaking, with imagery and set pieces that instantly embed themselves in your memory. It showcases del Toro’s strength as a filmmaker, creating immersive worlds that enhance what he does best: championing monsters and their tragic humanity instead of using them to scare us.”
