Together isn’t the only horror comedy starring an off-screen couple arriving this year; Aura Entertainment has announced that they’ve acquired Coyotes for Halloween season release.

Coyotes will release in theaters nationwide on October 3, 2025.

Directed by Colin Minihan (What Keeps You Alive, Grave Encounters) and written by Tad Daggerhart (The Expendables 4) and Nick Simon (The Pyramid), the film stars real-life couple Justin Long (Barbarian) and Kate Bosworth (Straw Dogs).

The horror comedy follows a family trapped in their Hollywood Hills home who must fight for survival as a pack of savage coyotes closes in.

Mila Harris (Mary), Brittany Allen (Dexter: Original Sin), Katherine McNamara (Shadowhunters), and Norbert Leo Butz (A Complete Unknown) also star.

Coyotes is an elevated, nuanced horror comedy with an unsettling atmosphere,” said Marc Goldberg, CEO of AURA ENTERTAINMENT. “Led by Justin Long and Kate Bosworth, Coyotes is an unforgettable film that will be on every moviegoer’s mind this fall. At AURA, these are exactly the types of films we bring to audiences worldwide – bold, genre-savvy, and creatively unabashed.”

Coyotes marks the third genre collaboration between Bosworth and Long; the pair previously appeared together in Barbarian and House of Darkness.

The film was financed by Capstone Studios, and is produced by Nathan Klingher, Joshua Harris, Ford Corbett (Gramercy Park), and Jib Polhemus (source | m+p). Capstone Studio’s Christian Mercuri, David Haring, Roman Viaris , Ruzanna Kegeyan, Jason Carpenter, James Harris (Tea Shop), Adam Mirels, Robbie Mirels, Tyler Gould, Michael Sklut, Jijo Reed, John Polequin, Nick Simon, and Tad Daggerhart are executive producers, alongside Long and Bosworth.

Before its October release, Coyotes is set to make its world premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 20. The festival’s description says the horror comedy “combines the claustrophobic dread of home invasion with brutal eco-horror, sugarcoated with various humorous situations. The film’s atmospheric intensity, tight pacing, and escalating stakes channel the distinctive unpredictability of nature gone rogue and the disastrous consequences of the forced displacement of wildlife.”

Stay tuned.
