For those gamers digging the idea of being trapped in your apartment a la Look Outside, you’ll have more in store next week with
SKONEC Entertainment’s Who’s at the door?, which is set to release July 18 on Steam. There’s also a demo available to give you a taste of the gameplay.

Described as a psychological horror experience “blending realistic visuals with strategic decision-making,” Who’s at the door? casts you as a person suffering from headaches and, more disturbingly, hallucinations. While the hallucinations are “nothing new,” when they linger and begin to overtake reality, it’s a problem.

Whenever someone knocks at the door, you must decide whether it’s safe to open it, or if you need to take your meds. If the hallucination disappears or returns to normal, it’s considered safe, and you’re okay to open the door. However, if the hallucination persists, it’s a sign that your meds have worn off.

All the while, you must collect doll fragments that reveal deeper layers of the narrative, as well as unlock the additional endings. Who’s at the door? features three unique endings. By completing one ending, it unlocks the next playthrough, revealing new story elements and the additional endings.

The full release of Who’s at the door? will feature “more intense horror sequences,” a quickplay mode, and after completing all endings, a randomized endless mode is unlocked for replayable challenges.
