Ninja Theory’s Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II has finally arrived on the PlayStation 5 today. The release coincides with the Enhanced update that’s available now on the Xbox Series, PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam. Alongside new graphical enhancements and performance optimisations, Dolby Atmos for speakers, and a more robust Photo Mode, players who have completed the game can access a new Dark Rot mode.

The new Dark Rot mode presents players with an extra challenge. Not only is the combat harder in this mode, but die too many times and the Dark Rot will consume Senua, wiping your progress.

As for those who enjoy their screenshots, the revised Photo Mode now allows for motion, ambient sounds and music to be added to your captures. Ninja Theory has also made some improvements to a range of settings “to make sure you have the tools you need to capture incredible images from the game.”

Players can check out the full patch notes here.

You can also spring for the Deluxe Edition on the PlayStation 5, which includes Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice and the Senua’s Sacrifice soundtrack. Those who own the original Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice on PlayStation 4 will get the PS5 upgrade for free.

Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II takes place after the events of the acclaimed 2017 original, where Senua has returned from Hel. Confronted with the devastation of her homeland at the hands of Viking raiders, Senua undertakes a brutal journey of survival through the myth and torment of Viking Iceland in order to exact revenge for the victims of the raiders.
