‘Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days’ Second Major Early Access Update Now Live [Trailer]

Following up the first Early Access update two months ago, PikPok has unleashed the second major update for Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days, upping the tension by introducing new zombie types, new difficulty settings and more.

First off, the update adds survivor infection. If your survivor is attacked by a zombie while out scavenging, there is now a chance of getting a Deep Wound. Along with causing survivors to take more damage in combat, Deep Wound will slowly reduce your survivor’s health and can sometimes carry a zombie infection. Your survivor may pull through with nothing but a scar, but you will have to deal with your decision to keep them, or kick them out of your shelter. However, kicking the final survivor out of your shelter will end the game.

Along with the addition of survivor infection, the update introduces a multitude of new zombie threats for players to combat in the city of Walton, with the new zombie types behaving in unpredictable ways.

To even things out, players have a new survivor to recruit in Vince, a troubled teen from a wealthy Texas family with an anti-authority streak.

Player also now have the power to tailor their Into the Dead: Our Darkest Days experience with pre-set difficulty settings of Casual, Normal or Hard. Or, you can create a customized nightmare by tweaking various game elements.

Looking ahead, PikPok is planning their third Early Access update in August. This smaller update will focus mostly on getting you equipped with an expanded range of firearms. That will be followed by the fourth update in September, which will feature an all new Escape Plan, new characters to meet and recruit, new locations to explore and more.
