‘Masters of the Universe’ Wraps Production, Nicholas Galitzine Shares Photo as He-Man
Masters of the Universe has wrapped production. Principal photography began in London back in January.
Nicholas Galitzine (The Idea of You) shared the news on Instagram along with a photo of him as He-Man.
“Well, that’s a wrap on Masters of the Universe,” the actor wrote. “It has been an honour shouldering the responsibility of playing Adam and He Man. It’s been the role of a lifetime and I put everything into it. There’s not much I can show you, but I am so proud of the movie we’ve made. Thanks to our amazing cast and crew for all your hard work.”
Directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee), the film is due out on June 5, 2026 via Amazon MGM Studios.
Galitzine stars with Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, and Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress.
The cast also includes Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcom/Fisto, Sam C. Wilson as Trap Jaw, Hafthor Bjornsson as Goat Man, Kojo Attah as Tri-Klops, James Purefoy as King Randor, Charlotte Riley as Queen Marlena, Jon Xue Zhang as Ram-Man, Sasheer Zamata as Suzie, and Christian Vunipola as Hussein.
Chris Butler (ParaNorman) wrote the script, reworked from earlier drafts by David Callaham (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) and Aaron & Adam Nee (The Lost City).
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the movie is expected to follow a young man who, upon discovering his secret legacy as the prince of an alien planet, must recover a magic sword and return home to protect his kingdom.
Mattel launched Masters of the Universe with a toy line in 1982 followed by the “He-Man and the Masters of the Universe” cartoon from 1983-1985. The franchise now includes multiple animated series, toy lines, comics, video games, and books, along with a 1987 live-action film.
