Get ready for an ocean battle between Godzilla and an all-new Mechagodzilla on August 1 when Godzilla The Ride: The Great Clash opens at Japan’s Seibuen Amusement Park.

Created by Godzilla Minus One writer-director-visual effect supervisor Takashi Yamazaki, the ride casts attendees as Godzilla surveillance crew members aboard the Goose Nest, the flagship vessel of the Emergency Defense against Gargantuan Encounter (EDGE) team, which houses the new Mechagodzilla, KIJU type 0‐G BREAKER-.

Lasting approximately 15 minutes, Godzilla The Ride: The Great Clash puts attendees on a mission to locate and engage the King of the Monsters on the Goose Nest’s advanced GOOSE drone ship capable of underwater, surface, and aerial navigation.

The splash ride will also feature an exclusive pre-show room with EDGE performers, large monitors showing Godzilla coastal attacks and detailed schematics of the Goose Nest mothership, plus a mockup of the KIJU type 0‐G BREAKER‐ in its hangar.

Godzilla The Ride: The Great Clash follows Yamazaki’s original Godzilla the Ride: Giant Monsters Ultimate Battle attraction, which is also at Seibuen Amusement Park.

Yamazaki is currently developing a follow-up to Godzilla Minus One for Toho.

For more kaiju action, Kong x Godzilla: The Ride is set to open at South Korea’s Lotte World Adventure in December.
