Dan Curtis’ ‘Dracula,’ ‘Frankenstein,’ ‘Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde’ Collected in Blu-ray Set from Kino Lorber

Dan Curtis’ Classic Monsters will be released on October 28 as spine #39 in Kino Lorber’s Kino Cult line.

The two-disc Blu-ray set collects three made-for-TV classic horror adaptations produced by “Dark Shadows” creator Dan Curtis: 1974’s Dracula, 1973’s Frankenstein, and 1968’s The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Dracula is directed by Curtis and written by Richard Matheson (I Am Legend, “The Twilight Zone”), based on Bram Stoker‘s 1897 novel.

Jack Palance stars as Dracula with Simon Ward, Nigel Davenport, Pamela Brown, Fiona Lewis, Penelope Horner, and Murray Brown.

At the request of Count Dracula, solicitor Jonathan Harker visits Transylvania in order to help the count finalize a real estate purchase. While there, he’s bewitched by a group of female vampires, and is lucky to escape the castle alive. Back in England, Harker’s fiancée is taken ill, and the attending doctor, Van Helsing, traces the sickness to the recent arrival of the mysterious Dracula.

Frankenstein is directed by Glenn Jordan (Barbarians at the Gate) and written by Curtis and Sam Hall (“Dark Shadows”), based on Mary Shelley‘s 1818 novel.

Robert Foxworth and Bo Svenson star as Victor Frankenstein and The Monster, respectively, with Susan Strasberg and Robert Gentry.

The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde is directed by Charles Jarrott (Anne of the Thousand Days) and written by Ian McLellan Hunter (The Amazing Mr. X), based on Robert Louis Stevenson‘s 1886 novella.

Jack Palance stars as Jekyll and Hyde along with Denholm Elliott, Tessie O’Shea, and Torin Thatcher.
