Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki is keeping busy. Not only is the filmmaker directing the next Godzilla movie from Toho, but Takashi Yamazaki is also writing, directing, and producing the VFX for a new Godzilla ride attraction arriving this summer.

“I’m thrilled to return to Godzilla’s world from the passenger seat,” said Yamazaki in a press release. “What powerful foes will emerge? Where will this ride take us next? As a ride enthusiast myself, I can’t wait for my first spin – and I’m working day and night with our team to make this the most terrifying ride in the world.”

The new Godzilla project is the second ride that Takashi Yamazaki has worked on for the King of the Monsters, following “Godzilla the Ride: Giant Monsters Ultimate Battle” that’s currently available at Japan’s Seibuen Amusement Park.

Details about the ride itself, including which kaiju will be featured or even the attraction’s name, have yet to be revealed. However, the scope and scale are said to surpass the previous attraction from the Academy Award winner of Best Visual Effects for Godzilla Minus One.

The new Godzilla ride experience is planned for multiple locations via the iRide system developed by Taiwan’s Brogent Technologies, Inc. Featured venues will include leading theme parks and entertainment centers utilizing Brogent’s iRide system. Exact locations and launch dates will be announced soon.

As if that’s not enough on Takashi Yamazaki’s plate, the filmmaker was recently announced to be working with producer J.J. Abrams on Grandgear, the first English-language feature from the Japanese Oscar winner.

The newly produced Godzilla experience will begin rolling out in the summer of 2025, so stay tuned.
