’80s Cult Classic ‘Krull’ Hits SteelBook 4K UHD in September

Krull will be released on SteelBook 4K UHD + Blu-ray + Digital on September 16 from Sony.

The 1983 sci-fi fantasy adventure has been newly restored in 4K from the original camera negative, approved by cinematographer Peter Suschitzky (Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back, A History of Violence), with Dolby Vision HDR.

The cult classic is directed by Peter Yates (Bullitt) and written by Stanford Sherman (The Ice Pirates). James Horner (Aliens, Avatar) composed the score.

Ken Marshall, Lysette Anthony, Freddie Jones, Francesca Annis, and Alun Armstrong star. Liam Neeson and Robbie Coltrane appear in supporting roles.

Set in a world peopled by creatures of myth and magic, a prince embarks on a quest to find the magical Glaive and then rescue his young bride. Colwyn is the leader of a mythical sword-and-sorcery group in pursuit of “the Beast” that has kidnapped his fiancée, Lyssa.
