Face Your Past in Newly-Announced Psychological Horror Game ‘THE DAY I WILL DIE’ [Trailer]

With Steam Scream IV Fest now underway, developer Lost Lighthouse Games has announced THE DAY I WILL DIE, their first-person psychological horror game that’s due out next year on Steam. The reveal was accompanied by the in-engine announcement trailer, which offers a glimpse at the world and tone of the game.
Set in a fog-covered valley cut off from time and reality, story details are yet to come for THE DAY I WILL DIE. However, from the description on Steam, in the hidden corners of the valley, you recognize places from your childhood – forest trails, stone bridges. They awaken memories: old dreams, past fears, unfulfilled ambitions. Yet with them stirs something darker – beings born from pop culture, urban legends, and horror stories of the late ’70s and early ’80s, now standing before you as real threats. And even more dangerous are those adversaries that materialize from our own subconscious fears.
THE DAY I WILL DIE will feature a “dynamic, varied combat system,” where players will have a diverse arsenal of weapons at their disposal, confronting enemies shaped by childhood fears and dark legends of the past. As you traverse the valley, players will draw closer to understanding what truly happened – and what still waits behind the veil of mist. In the end, you will also face what we have created within ourselves as adults.
