Critical Reflex and developer Trioskaz have followed through with an updated Steam Next Fest demo for their in-development anxiety-filled horror title No, I’m not a Human. Accompanying the updated demo is a new trailer for the game, which is slated for a Q3 2025 release on Steam, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.

The demo includes a few updates over the previous version, most notably in its randomization. Aiming to add “more uncertainty and anxiety to your playthroughs,” some of the guests will have their true identity and the day of their appearance randomized on each run. Important characters such as the Neighbour, the Prophet, the Super Impostor and FEMA soldier still have set parameters and will show up exactly as before.

In addition to updated dialogues and text, achievements, and other small fixes, Trioskaz has made the following notable additions to the demo:

  • Interactive radio — each day you’ll have the opportunity to hear a new broadcast. You’ll have to catch the right frequency to hear it clearly though

  • More stuff on the TV — after you’ve watched the morning broadcast, you can tune in for more shows during the day. Maybe something important might pop up there as well, who knows

  • New characters — will you risk your safety and let them in, or let them burn in the raging Sun?

  • Extended backstories for each character — more personality for the guests and more weight to your decisions. Be sure talk to them… or don’t, if you want your conscience to stay clean

  • Consumables — true “bachelor fridge” experience, complete with beer and energy drinks. More of them will be featured in the full game

In No, I’m not a Human, the world is ending. Acrid aromas of sun-scorched streets fill the air. Blackened corpses gnarled into shapes of agony line streets. Peering outside is enough to scorch your eyes from their sockets. The only refuge is in the night. However, the night belongs to the Visitors.

A knock on the door. A solitary voice, begging for refuge. They look like us. Talk like us. Smell like us. But are they us? Isolation will not save you. Let some in. Hear their stories. Some will help, some will need help. Some are Visitors. The Visitors kill. You must kill them first. Interrogate the guests. Do what must be done.
