More than 50 years after hitting the stage, Richard O’Brien‘s The Rocky Horror Show universe is getting its first original graphic novel.

Set seven years after the events of the iconic production, Bride of Rocky Horror is headed to Kickstarter later this year via Bit Bot Media.

We have an exclusive look at the variant cover by Uncle Frank (Terrifier 3) below, along with the standard cover art by Soo Lee (Carmilla).

The 95-page hardcover extravaganza comes from writer Magdalene Visaggio (Girlmode), artist Noemi Vettori (X-Men Unlimited), colorist Josh Rodriguez, and letterer Jeremiah Lambert.

In Bride of Rocky Horror, Janet Weiss has embraced a life of decadence and debauchery. But when a mysterious invitation draws her back into the orbit of her ex-fiancé Brad Majors, a new mystery unfolds. Who is the enigmatic Bridget Von Frankenstein? What secrets is Brad hiding? And is it, once again, time for the Time Warp?

Rocky Horror is one of my favorite stories of all time,” said Visaggio. “It was the safest queer art I had access to when I was young because my parents were both huge fans. So to get the chance to look beyond it and see how it could have played out once that fateful night ended was a dream come true.”

Visaggio continues, “I tried to make something as personal and idiosyncratic as O’Brien’s original, riffing off the themes that stood out to me the same way O’Brien was riffing on his childhood influences. I think me and Noemi have made something really unique.”

“As an artist, and even more so as a Rocky Horror Show fan, it meant a lot to me to pay tribute to our beloved characters, striving to stay as true as possible to their original appearance and personalities,” explained Vettori. “I hope I succeeded in representing what Rocky Horror embodies: chaos, passion, and rebellion. Working on Bride of Rocky Horror wasn’t just about illustration, it was about channeling all the energy of an eccentric and mesmerizing musical onto paper!”

Lee added, “As a long standing fan of the Rocky Horror Picture Show, it is such an honor to be able to work on the covers for the resurrection of this wild world!”

In addition to the graphic novel, the Kickstarter campaign will offer a variety of exclusive merchandise, including four interconnecting prints by Lee, Frank-N-Furter and Rocky plushes, The Rocky Horror Show Video Game, the video game soundtrack on vinyl, and 8-bit Frank-N-Furter figures, apparel, and more.

Bride of Rocky Horror is an officially licensed story that’s sure to delight Rocky Horror fans old and new,” commented Bit Bot Media’s Josh Viola. “We’re beyond excited to bring this iconic world back to life for the fans.”
