First Annual SModcastle HorrorFest Takes Over Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey This Halloween Weekend!
Kevin Smith’s SModcastle Cinemas is celebrating Halloween this weekend with the first ever SModcastle HorrorFest, a special event designed to showcase indie horror created by aspiring filmmakers for the horror community. It’s set to be an annual event, and it all kicks off Saturday, November 1 at SModcastle Cinemas in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey!
The theater previews, “Our focus is to celebrate films that keep you on the edge of your seats , make your skin crawl and your heart race in this bloody world of horror. Once selected by our panel of judges, your film will be showcased in a real movie theatre. This HorrorFest will be a platform to connect, inspire and celebrate the independent spirit of all things Horror.”
Trophies will be awarded in the following categories:
- Best Feature
- Best Short
- Best Horror/Comedy
- Best Gore
- Best Kill
- Best Actor
- Best Villain
- Best Scream
- Best Use of a Kill Weapon
- Best SPFX/Make-Up
