Lloyd Kaufman’s ‘The Tempest’ Parody ‘Shakespeare’s Shitstorm’ Hits 4K UHD Next Month
Hell is empty and all the devils are here in Shakespeare’s Shitstorm, Troma’s crude parody of William Shakespeare‘s The Tempest.
Directed by Lloyd Kaufman (The Toxic Avenger), the 2020 musical horror comedy will be released on 4K Ultra HD on September 16.

Mad scientist Prospero runs away with his blind daughter Miranda to Tromaville, hiding from evil pharmaceutical execs, including his own sister Antoinette, who ruined his career after he found the cure against opioid addiction.
With the help of a handicapped crack-whore, he releases a massive amount of laxative to whales, while his enemies are on a cruise ship to North Korea. A humongous shitstorm washes the boat away and brings them to Tromaville. Prospero can now fully realize his ultimate vengeance.
Kaufman stars as Prospero alongside Kate McGarrigle, Erin Miller, Debbie Rochon, Abraham Sparrow, Zac Amico, Amanda Flowers, Dylan Mars Greenberg, Zoe Geltman, Frazer Brown, Monique Dupree, Teresa Hui, Ahkai Franklin, and Catherine Corcoran.
Brandon Bassham penned the script, based on a story by Kaufman, Gabriel Friedman (Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead), and — of course — Shakespeare.
Luiz H. C. wrote in his review, “If you’re not already a Troma fan, it’s unlikely that Shakespeare’s Shitstorm will be the film to change that. However, if you’re familiar with their balls-to-the-wall approach to schlock (and can stomach a few tasteless laughs), you might just find a legitimately poignant statement hidden behind the blood, guts and fecal matter.”
