‘Blood Shine’ – First Look at Folk Horror Movie from ‘Alone With You’ Filmmakers

Emily Bennett and Justin Brooks, the married duo behind the pandemic horror movie Alone With You, have unveiled a first look at their next horror movie, Blood Shine.

Variety reports that Blood Shine will be released later this year.

The outlet details, “The film takes place in upstate NY and follows Clara, played by Bennett (Shelby Oaks), described as a ‘religious zealot who worships light in lonely, sacred rituals.’

“David Call (Insidious: The Red Door) plays Brighton West, a horror filmmaker who tries to work on his script upstate when ‘a chance encounter with Clara leads him into an hallucinatory web of faith, flesh, and the sublime,’ according to the logline.” Brendan Sexton III (“Russian Doll”), Larry Fessenden (MaXXXine) and Toby Poser (Hellbender) also star.

Paper Street Pictures is handling sales on the upcoming Blood Shine.

The horror movie is both written and directed by Bennett and Brooks.
