‘The Boys’ Final Season Wraps Production

The fifth and final season of Prime Video’s “The Boys” has wrapped production.
Creator/showrunner Eric Kripke shared the news on Instagram along with a photo in the Seven meeting room, writing, “This is the last time I’ll ever be on this set. It’ll be torn down soon. It’s bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude.”
He continues, “We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing. You wait your whole career to have maybe two of those things, if you’re lucky. We got all of them. To #TheBoys family: thank you, I love you all. To the fans: thanks for watching, can’t wait for you to see the grand finale. That’s a wrap.”
Based on the New York Times bestselling comic of the same name by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, the satirical superhero series debuted in 2019. Season 5 is expected to premiere in 2026.
Star Jack Quaid recently told THR, “It’s just getting more and more surreal that I’m going to have to start saying goodbye to Hughie Campbell. It’s emotional. It’s bittersweet. This show has done everything for me. I love it. I love the people. I’m going to miss everyone so much, and it’s going to be weird [without it].
He added, “But I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished this season. I think it’s a great finale, which is a hard thing to do in TV. I’m happy that Eric Kripke got to make the ending he intended, and he did a great job. So I’m excited for you guys to see it.”
The ensemble also includes Karl Urban, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, Valorie Curry, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, and Jensen Ackles.
Although “The Boys” is coming to an end, spin-off series “Gen V” is due to return for its second season in September and prequel series “Vought Rising” is in pre-production. Another spin-off, “The Boys: Mexico,” is also in development.
