‘Wretch’ – Eric LaRocca’s Hallucinatory Tech-Gothic Novel Cover Reveal [Exclusive]

Bram Stoker Award®-nominated and Splatterpunk Award-winning author Eric LaRocca is debuting his first novel at a major publishing house with Wretch, described as a nightmarish “gut-punch.”
Bloody Disgusting can exclusively reveal the cover for the upcoming novel, set to publish on March 24, 2026.
The novel being published by Saga Press is touted as a “nightmarish, haunting, tech-Gothic thrill ride about sorrow, memory, and the unabashed complexity of love as a transgressive act.”
It follows “widow Simeon, who finds himself seeking comfort in an unusual support group called “The Wretches,” who obsess over finding the faces of their departed loved ones in photographs of inanimate objects. When Simeon befriends a certain member of the group, he’s drawn into a netherworld of madness while he struggles to make sense of his grief. Enter Porcelain Khaw, a man capable of gifting people with one last intimate moment with their lost loved ones for a price. But to see his husband once more, Simeon might just be willing to pay it, and he finds himself falling deeper into an infatuation with this man, slowly losing his identity to an otherworldly sorrow.”
“Hallucinatory, fiendish, and destructively beautiful, Wretch transports us to a world where not everything is as it seems, and those we love may be the ones who haunt us most.”
Eric LaRocca has been referred to as the “modern-day Clive Barker“ by This Is Horror, “must read horror“ by the New York Times, and praised by heavy-hitters like Paul Tremblay, Chuck Wendig and Mariana Enriquez for his previous novels, including At Dark, I Become Loathsome and Things Have Gotten Worse Since We Last Spoke and Other Misfortunes. The author is also launching a new trilogy with the upcoming novel We Are Always Tender with Our Dead.
