Artist Matt Bors Shares ‘Toxic Crusaders’ Trading Cards from ‘Toxic Avenger’ Comics [Exclusive]

While you wait for The Toxic Avenger to hit theaters on August 29, Toxie is tearing through multiple comic books from Ahoy Comics.
The Toxie Team-Up mini-series launched in June, The Toxic Avenger Comics #1 kicked off a new ongoing series last month with the next issue dropping on August 13, and a five-part Toxic Crusaders run is set to begin on September 10 and continue on October 15.
Matt Bors is creating trading cards featuring the mutant crew to accompany the comics, and we have an exclusive look at Fungirl, Nozone, and Major Disaster below.
The Toxic Avenger Comics is written by Bors with different artists contributing to each issue. #1 features art by Fred Harper, while #2 has Felipe Sobreiro in addition to Harper.
In issue #1, kids are disappearing from Toxie’s hometown of Tromaville, NJ. Did they simply run away from the chemically polluted town, or is the real explanation even more frightening?
In issue #2, a dead body lies on a rainswept street in the neon light of downtown Tromaville. A note pinned to the corpse points the accusing finger at the Toxic Avenger, leading an armored SWAT team to surround his junkyard.
Toxic Crusaders is written by Bors with artwork by Tristan Wright.
In issue #1, other mutations arise in the aftermath of the chemical spill that created the Toxic Avenger — including Nozone, Junkyard, Fungirl, and Major Disaster. They join forces to fight evil as the Toxic Crusaders.
In issue #2, tarred as terrorists, Toxie and his teammates pursue Mister P, a covert extraterrestrial invader posing as a finance exec — who seeks to serve his masters by manipulating the world economy into permanent oblivion.

Fungirl – Included with The Toxic Avenger Comics #1 on August 13

Nozone – Included with Toxic Crusaders #1 on September 10

Major Disaster – Included with Toxic Crusaders #2 on October 15
