Odette Annable To Topline Psychological Horror Movie ‘Anima’

Filming is now underway in Bogotá, Colombia on Anima, a psychological horror movie starring Odette Annable (Cloverfield, The Unborn).

Anima is written and directed by Andrés Beltrán (Tarumama, MalaYerba)

The horror movie follows “Helena (Annable), a forensic medical investigator overwhelmed by grief after the death of her husband Richard (Londono). When she becomes obsessed with a disturbing new case, Helena starts to believe she can bring Richard back—unleashing a cascade of terrifying consequences. Revolori plays Pablo, a key figure tied to the mystery that pulls Helena further into a spiral of obsession and horror. Leguizamo portrays Helena’s daughter Julia.”

Allegra Leguizamo (Tin Soldier, People Not Places), Julio Cesar Cedillo (Sicario, “Narcos: Mexico”), Tony Revolori (Scream VI, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Spider-Man Trilogy), and Andres Londono (“Fear the Walking Dead”, “Narcos: Mexico”) also star.

Anima is produced by Jason Cherubini, Roberto Urbina, and Martin Ramos of Cinestesia Films. John Harris, J. Todd Harris, Marc Marcum, and Thomas Pettinelli serve as executive producers.

“This is a deeply emotional and unsettling story—about grief, denial, and the terrifying cost of refusing to let go,” said Beltrán.

“It’s been exciting to bring this vision to life with such a dedicated creative team. From the very beginning, Anima stood out as something special—genre storytelling that’s grounded in emotional truth,” added Cherubini. “With this cast and Andrés at the helm, we’re building something haunting and memorable.”

The announcement comes with the first images from set, below, which don’t give much away in terms of plot but does highlight moody night scenes.
