John Carpenter to Appear at Midsummer Scream in Long Beach This August

Master of horror John Carpenter is invading the world’s largest Halloween and horror convention, Midsummer Scream, on August 16.
He’ll be appearing as a part of Storm King Comics, founded by his wife and producing partner, Sandy King, who will also be in attendance.
Fans who purchase Carpenter’s autograph at the event will receive a copy of John Carpenter Presents George A. Romero’s The Amusement Park, the new graphic novel adaption from Storm King Comics and the George A. Romero Foundation.
“We’re thrilled to welcome horror legend John Carpenter, Sandy King, and Storm King Comics to Midsummer Scream for the first time,” said Midsummer Scream co-founder David Markland. “Their presence, especially with this year’s theme focused on horror comic books, is a dream pairing.”
Storm King Comics is also bringing additional artists and creators, to be announced, to their show floor booth.
Midsummer Scream will welcome over 50,000 fans and 300+ exhibitors to the Long Beach Convention Center in Long Beach, CA on August 15-17. Passes are on sale now.
The show’s tricks, treats, and terrors also include an expansive “Hall of Shadows” haunt zone, live entertainment, and panels covering horror films, TV, and major attractions like Halloween Horror Nights, Paramount Scares, and Thirteenth Floor.
In addition to Carpenter and King, the guest list features David Howard Thornton (Terrifier), Joe Bob Briggs & Darcy the Mail Girl (“The Last Drive-in), Barry Bostwick (Rocky Horror Picture Show), Kimberly J. Brown (Halloweentown), and Daniel Kountz (Halloweentown II), among others.
Carpenter, who was honored with a Hollywood Walk of Fame star earlier this month, will release Lost Themes: 10th Anniversary Expanded Edition on May 9 and perform concerts in New York and Los Angeles beginning in October.
