Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Ben Kingsley, and Celia Imrie team up to investigate a murder-mystery at their retirement home in Netflix’s The Thursday Murder Club.

You’re invited to join the club in the trailer below. Co-produced by Netflix and Amblin, the comedic whodunit streams August 28.

Chris Columbus (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Home Alone) directs from a script by Katy Brand (Good Luck to You, Leo Grande) and Suzanne Heathcote (“Fear the Walking Dead”), based on Richard Osman‘s 2020 bestselling novel of the same name.

Four irrepressible retirees — an ex-spy (Mirren), an ex–union activist (Brosnan), an ex-psychiatrist (Kingsley), and an ex-nurse (Imrie) — spend their time solving cold case murders for fun, but their causal sleuthing takes a thrilling turn when they find themselves with a real whodunit on their hands.

Naomi Ackie, Daniel Mays, Henry Lloyd-Hughes, Tom Ellis, David Tennant, Jonathan Pryce, Paul Freeman, Geoff Bell, Richard E. Grant, and Ingrid Oliver round out the cast.

“I loved the characters, the story, their world,” said producer Jennifer Todd. “I think the richness of the characters speaks to a larger audience. They are such a delight. You want to be with them — and murders are such fun to solve.”
