Deathstalker, a reboot of the Roger Corman-produced 1983 sword and sorcery cult classic, will be released on Digital November 11 via Shout Studios.

Written and directed by Steven Kostanski (Psycho Goreman, The Void), the film stars Daniel Bernhardt in the titular role.

In the film, the Kingdom of Abraxeon is under siege by the Dreadites, heralds of the long-dead sorcerer Nekromemnon. When Deathstalker recovers a cursed amulet from a corpse-strewn battlefield, he’s marked by dark magick and hunted by monstrous assassins. To survive, he must break the curse and face the rising evil.

The cast also includes Christina Orjalo, Paul Lazenby, Nicholas Rice, Nina Bergman, and Patton Oswalt as the voice of the benevolent wizard Doodad.

Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash is an executive producer on the project and collaborated with composer Bear McCreary (“The Walking Dead”) on the film’s theme song.

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review, “Deathstalker wears its cinematic reverence on its sleeves, delivering a love letter to practical effects and bygone sword & sorcery epics.”

Stay tuned for details on Deathstalker‘s physical release, coming in 2026.
