Steam Next Fest Demo Available Now for ‘Hell is Us’ [Trailer]

Rogue Factor are jumping on the trend of releasing a demo ahead of Steam Next Fest next week, releasing the aforementioned preview for their upcoming action-adventure game Hell is Us. The demo will be featured as part of Steam Next Fest, and will remain available on Steam until June 16.

As previously alluded to by the devs, the demo introduces players to the concept of player-plattering, and invites them to “say goodbye to mini-maps, GPS and quest markers to better rediscover the immersive nature of adventure games.” In Hell is Us, players will have to rely on their instincts, their sense of observation and their melee combat skills to overcome the difficulties and threats they’ll face.

The Hell is Us demo includes the entire first chapter, offering about an hour and a half of content, and possibly even more for those curious and eager enough to find some of the game’s many secrets.

Combining melee combat, exploration and a captivating story, Hell is Us sees players take on the role of Rémi, a protagonist on a quest to find his origins in a country ravaged by civil war. The country’s almost total autarky conceals a dark secret: the recent appearance of strange creatures reminiscent of ancient headstones and monuments in the region. Armed with weapons specially forged to fight these monsters, Rémi must learn how to defeat them and use his equipment wisely.

Hell is Us will launch September 4 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series and PC. The physical Deluxe Edition is available now for pre-ordering.
